The Houston based company specializes in custom vehicles ranging from off-road trucks to extreme jeeps and the occasional old-school hot rod. The long time client originally, wanted a simple logo and website to showcase their work. Today, their business has gotten nation-wide recognition and I’m slated to revisit all creative over the next year. With a solid user-base on Instagram, the site for 2016 will be responsive and cater to mobile users.
As the company has grown, they now build many of their hard-parts in-house. Anything created by them, utilizes the iconic version of their logo.
Starting out, the client was simply wanting a logo for the shop. Seeing the potential, I tried to come up with something that could be used as an icon as well. I envisioned the simple star with a “G” being used for social media, small sticker, etc.
As the company grew and changed it’s business model, the graphics began being used on vehicle wraps, car show booths and general print collateral.
The homepage and main navigation of the site were done in flash. I was once an animation guru and took pride in my action script abilities. The site for 2016 will be built on a CMS and feature a responsive design.
Shown is a very small portion of the quickly growing gallery. I chose to use fancybox to display larger images and navigation. The gallery for the upcoming version will use an Instagram API.
